The Fiji National Sports Commission had recently announced extra funds to help raise awareness and develop lesser-known sports in the country. Jurgensen was one of the 60 candidates who had applied for the top post and the Australian was signed up on a 3-year deal which will also see him coach the Fiji Women's and age-grade teams.
Cricket Fiji's General Manager, Inoke Lesuma, was over the moon with the appointment of Jurgensen
"It truly remarkable that we have someone of Shane's calibre coming to work with us here in Fiji. To gain someone on our team who has come from a test-playing nation to a country that is not currently a part of the World Cricket League is just unheard of," he said
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
