In his first class career to date Peters has taken 177 wickets at 20.27. This would strongly suggest that he should have been given a look in some time ago.
Instead the WI persisted with the likes of Best who despite his pace was incapable of consistently outing test batsmen.

This is true. As much as I'd love to see more quicks play - if you're terribly inconsistent then it's pointless. His stats are excellent for any conditions and yes should've given a fair shot at it long time back.

Although I guess age is a moot point when it comes to "medium" bowlers - he can still do well if he has it in him.

Where is devendra bishoo ? I thought,he was a regular in the side and who is this guy Blackwood.Googled his name and found that he was an all rounder.Is he an interesting prospect.
