All-rounder Darren Sammy has announced his retirement from Test cricket, in a stunning development after he was sacked as the West Indies skipper.

The St Lucian all-rounder was on Friday axed as Test skipper and replaced by wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin, after a near four-year stint in charge, reports CMC.

However, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) subsequently announced Sammy’s decision to end his Test career, while noting that the Twenty20 captain would remain available for selection to the other formats of the game.

“Darren Sammy has formally notified the West Indies Cricket Board of his decision to retire from Test cricket,” the board said.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

logical development.  just about the right spacing too come to think of it.

I was thinking like monday or tuesday next week.

he would be dropped, humiliated.  why allow himself.  he has dat Darren Bravo thing on his back

I am sooprised he did not go all the way..  he shud have.  he will get drop from all the formats unless someone assured him of a pik... at least in T20.

but he better be careful..not to trust such promises.  he will get drop anyway.. regardless.  he balances nothing, throws everything out of whack.

he is toast...its best he not ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL:: tarry!
