Andrew Hudson, South Africa's convener of selectors, said that Jacques Kallis will be a part of the squad for the ODIs against Sri Lanka in July. In an interview to an Indian newspaper, Hudson said the series could be an opportunity for Kallis to stake a claim for the 2015 World Cup squad, a goal the allrounder had expressed when he retired from Test cricket last year.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

kallis must be in the scheme of things if South Africa aspires to lift their maiden world cup title. He' s their Sachin Tendulkar and his mere presence in d dressing room is enough to motivate them & post fears in other teams.

Sachin didn't have all THAT much to do with when India lifted their second cup (although tbf he did when they nearly won to '03 cup, sure). And I don't think Kallis is THAT crucial to their ODI lineup, especially in a modern context. There are plenty of players who are shorter over formats specialists and score quick runs. Not suggesting that Kallis can't - just suggesting that they'd do more or less fine without him.

Kylester,
I concur.
In some ways I think he is standing in the way of a youngster.
My concern is not playing any Cricket, bar IPL, is no preparation for ODIs.
