Adrian Ramlagan spun the North zone to victory yesterday over Tobago at Shaw Park in round one of the BG T&T Under-15 two-day Interzone competition, grabbing 5/41 to guide his team to a nine-wicket win.
Starting its second innings yesterday with a 50-run deficit on first innings, Tobago struggled at the crease. The spin trio of Ramlagan, Sameer Ali (2/12) and captain Michael Ambard (2/27) combined to snatch nine wickets, as Tobago fell for 101. Gereeb Louis stood tall for Tobago, scoring 41.
This left North the simple task of getting 54 to win, which it got with the loss of one wicket. Ambard and Navin Bedaisse were both unbeaten at the crease, hitting 19 and 16 respectively.
In other matches, Central crushed South-West by an innings and 133 runs and South-East got past South by 115 runs. In the East, North-East encounter, East won easily but details were not available up to press time.
Round two will be played on Monday and Tuesday.
