Thus far, in this year's English County Cricket season, Chanderpaul has made 91, 75*, 52 and 82, giving him an average of exactly 100.
If I remember correctly, he averaged in the mid-40s last year.

Shiv's strike rate is poor and he really should have had at least 3 tons if we are to believe his class.
I do believe his class and I am disappointed.
Strike rate and conversion far too low. At this stage he needs to lift Derby so hope it happens as the season progresses.
However disappointed, thus far.
Keep going though.

Maybe so but where are those with spectacular strike and accumulation rates .'?
Shiv has been there for well near 20 years and those flashy types are in oblivion

We talking strike rates. Chanderpaul's international test average is 51, his strike rate is 43. That is a slow strike rate.

Trinidadians only talk through their butt because their mouth always full of food.

A global great too. Chanderpaul is basically our Dravid. He bats slow and he makes runs. Batting slow and making runs is okay. The problem is batting slow and making no runs. Which leads us to...

What flashy types? Marlon Samuels strike rate in tests is in the 40s, Darren Bravo in the 40s, Sarwan in the 40s. As a comparison, Dravid's is 43 and Sangakkara's is 54. West Indies now have no "flashy" test batsmen with "spectacular strike rates". The closest is Gayle in the 50s, and even that is behind the 60-70 odd strike-rates of dominators like Lara and Sir Vivian "I dont have time for this sh*t" Richards.
WI test problems isn't that they have flashy players with no substance, its that they got a bunch of slow batsmen who get out at 30.

Ketchim,
There will be times when SR is low and around the time of my comment, Bell had an even worse one. The better players have STs around 70.
My point though is that Shiv's role is to improve the team and his slow pace may have a negative influence on the team.
He is a class player and should be bullying some of these Div II bowlers. That said early season so we will see.
