IT TOOK a little more than three hours yesterday for Barbados to complete the demolition job over Trinidad and Tobago that started the previous day as Ashley Nurse put in another impactful performance to help his team thrash their opponents by an innings and 160 runs at Kensington Oval.
Left arm spinner Sulieman Benn again tormented T&T with figures of four for 66, but the all-round contribution of Nurse in this match, was phenomenal.
The win came comfortably inside three days and with very little resistance from a Trinidad and Tobago team that was totally outplayed and outclassed in every department of the game.
Already with a maiden unbeaten century, a couple catches and two wickets in the first innings, off-spinner Nurse capped a sensational performance with figures of four for 64 as T&T limped to 199 all out, 75 minutes after lunch, having started the third morning of the scheduled four-day contest on 44 without loss.
It was a marginally better performance than the first innings 120 made in reply to Barbados’ 479 for eight declared. So feeble was the batting effort of the visitors that they were dismissed twice in a period equivalent to a little more than a day.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
