What's the best bowling battery WI can put together?

What do you prefer, 3 fasts and 2 spinners or 4 fasts and 1 spinner? Why?

Should the ODI, Test and T20 bowling units be the same? Why would a good bowler in one format not be good in another? Wouldnt playing them across all formats force them to evolve, become more cunning and grow?

Screw all medium pacers. If you want a medium pacer, he should be an accomplished batsman first. Agree?

Tests hand ODI should be the same as the discipline is more about application and building an innings.


T20s I do not really care much but get away from a bit part team.


My ideal test and ODI team are

1.  Barath
2.  Brathwaite
3.  Lil bravo
4.  Sarwan
5.  Tiger
6.  Fudadin
7.  Ramdin
8.  Holder
9.  Narine
10. Rampaul
11. Roach

For ODIs, I would have Gayle replace Brathwaite and Fudadin replaced by Pollard or big bravo, rest the same.

Fudadin might seem a strange choice but when I have seen him, he has been a gritty fighter and did quite well when given a chance. He seems to be out of favour.The Skipper for tests and ODIs would be Ramdin.

For T20s I would replace Shiv with who ever, this is a format I have little time for. Captain Big Bravo.

Samuels is a notable omission as, for me, he is a proven and certified failure. Yes 2012 was brilliant but after about 50 tests his numbers are piss poor, although he has the occasional good innings.

This whole issue about Rampaul I do not buy. The chap is a wicket taker up forint and with the right support from the other end an effective partnership can be built. Much like Johnson, not a comparison of abilities, I would use him in 6-7 overs bursts.Overall given where Barath's is right now, I would have to have Kirk Edwards in for tests and eventually ODIs when Gayle departs.
