Man of the match Ed Joyce and coach Phil Simmons are both delighted after Ireland surprise defending world champions the West Indies in the Twenty20 clash in Jamaica.

Joyce's unbeaten 40 helped the Irish achieve a six-wicket win as they chased down the West Indies total of 116-8 with five balls to spare.

"I personally felt George Dockrell deserved man of the match for the way he bowled his four overs," said Joyce.

Simmons added that the victory should give Ireland confidence for their challenge at the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh next month.

Ireland face the Windies again in a Twenty20 clash at Sabina Park on Friday before Sunday's one-day international between the countries at the Kingston venue.
