Trinidad and Tobago opener Adrian Barath is targeting a return to the West Indies side in time for the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Barath says he is hoping to impress the selectors when he plays in the Regional Super50 tournament and the four-day championship, which follows.

The 23-year-old Barath says he has done a lot of work on his game and is looking forward to get back into the West Indies team.

In 2009 the right-handed opener had an amazing Test debut in Australia, where he made a blazing century in his second Test innings at the Gabba.

Barath spent last year at the Sagicor High Performance Centre where he made some changes to his game.

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

I think this young man is part of the batting solution so I wish him well and hope he and Brathwaite can open the test innings soon. Powell can bat at 5 or 6.

I dont like coaches very much googs.  m case is that they are not needed in charge of any dam thing.

so when batsmen fails I am loathe to blame them..especially a batsman who has arrived at the top.

when a batsmen arrives at the top he is a finished product, professional and responsible for himself.  at that point he is supposed to USE coaches not need them to do his bating fuh him.

the process and content of his professionalism may or may not require that.

its like this:  the opposition will study out all the batsmen deh have to face and work them out, discover their weakness and plan how to get them out.  this is a constant all batsmen have to deal with.  the batsmen in turn working on their craft will develop the means of skill and emotion, brains to cope and dominate.  if they discover their own chinks and what others have planned for them they can call up a coach and work with him, use him to make technical and style corrections, attitude and appraoch etc to keep themselves on top

that is the responsibility of a test batsman..to know his trade which involves all his competition and what he has to do to make the best living he can at it.  the coach,  the psychologist all become tools to use as it is necessary to be successful

that is where Barath failed.  he is very good Barath,  he scored early.  then his ego got the better of him, his early success and wealth.. and he forgot the work and dedication he put in to get there and the volumes more of the same it would take to stay there.

that was his problem.  if he got over it and come back to hard work, dedication and understanding he may get back in and go on well.  west indies need him in that way
