Former West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor, who last represented Jamaica in March 2011, is among a 45-man training squad which started preparations on Tuesday for the 2014 regional (four-day) first-class and 50-over tournaments.
Taylor, 29, captured 82 wickets in 29 Tests for the West Indies between 2003 and 2009, but his career has been severely hampered by injuries.
The squad includes four players on the West Indies Test and one day tour of New Zealand. They are batsman Marlon Samuels, wicketkeeper batsman Chadwick Walton, left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell and left-arm orthodox spinner Nikita Miller.
However, former Jamaica and West Indies captain Chris Gayle, who suffered a hamstring injury on the recent West Indies tour of India, was not named.
All five Jamaicans in the West Indies Under-19 squad for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup, Ramaal Lewis, Fabian Allen, Triston Coleman and Brandon King, are included.
There are no fewer than 17 new faces in the training squad.
A notable omission is the 28-year-old left-handed opener Simon Jackson, who has scored 1414 runs in 33 matches for an average of 23.96.
