Ah that's the man.
Can you imagine not making another test century after that, in the next 24 tests??????

rowe did not have a great test career. it seems three innings has made him a legend.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Rowe was not dominant although he could be at times, I have not checked his Test SR but I cannot imagine it being higher than 45 ish.
He drove very well and was more aesthetically pleasing and he too was a bit of a wall.
Really Rowe's career was in several parts in and out of the team and his career was not very long.
People remember him for the impact he made at the start of his career. It night have been only against NZ and England he did well and failed against the rest.
Rev may want to confirm that.
I believe Rowe had some eye problems and may even have had eye surgery after his debut and he was never quite the same again.
Vivian also had eye surgery around 75-6 (?) when the team went to NZ without him and was beaten amidst much controversy with umpiring.
If I was forced to give an answer I would say no Tiger is not a better batsman than Rowe.

Rowe had all the shots and I surely wouldn't call him a wall. He did become less consistent as his career went on but he made good runs against Australia too, against the might of Lillee and Thomson. He made 107 in the first test in 75/76 and runs while involved in Packer cricket, including a much talked about 175. When WSC came here he made< I think a 135 after being seriously hit by Lillee in the first game.
