Cricket may summon up images of green pitches in sleepy English villages, but these pictures show that the sport has penetrated to almost every corner of the globe.
They depict a match involving a team of Maasai tribesmen showing off their skills during a match in their native Kenya today.
The tribesmen, renowned for their height and fierce hunting culture, have started a cricket team as part of a campaign to highlight the dangers facing their isolated rural community.

Africa is another untapped market of world sport, as is Asia. Football is popular in these regions, but some intelligent action could see cricket become a popular sport. The lack of grass pitches and availability of the equipment are some hurdles which could be overcome if international cricket organisations worked to put an emphasis on growth in Africa.
Lack of exposure to cricket is another issue which holds back cricket in developing nations. Increasing exposure of cricket in developing nations will generate interest and will encourage people to try their hand at cricket.
I think cricket has some unique hurdles when it comes to growth in new markets, however these can be overcome. It would take some serious consideration and decisive action, because other sports will attempt to win these areas for themselves.

Epic: The amazing story of the Warriors team has been turned into a documentary coming out soon.
The Maasai's adventure with cricket is being chronicled in Warriors, a documentary which is set to be released this year.
The film, documenting the transformation from tribesmen to sportsmen, is being supported by England's leading fast bowler James Anderson.
Great stuff Jimmy ....

Britain just gave them twenty five million pounds for past atrocities against the Massai and hopefully it would help their cricket some
