Twenty year old Beaton, who hails from Reliance on the Essequibo Coast, told Kaieteur Sport that he is delighted with the selection and it is a good opportunity for him. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for me knowing that the HPC has good facilities and coaches. Going there is a boost for me and I am looking forward to make the most of the opportunity and improve my game,†he stated.
Beaton started to play the game as a fifteen year old at the club level in Essequibo and hopes to represent the West Indies at the highest level. “I must give credit to coach Alfred Maycock for helping me early in my career. I am prepared to work hard to achieve my goals and to represent the region. At the moment most grounds are not in good condition but I do a lot of training in the gym,†he informed.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
