Green Moons sire Montjeu is from from the post powerful line of grass horse in existence
Saddlers Wells, Northern Dancer, Neartic, Nearco...cant get better than that.
Nearco an Italian horse is regarded as the greatest sire of winning horse in history..the more important breeding influence since at least 1940 in the last century...
Nearco's son gave rise to the Canadian horse Nothern Dance who replicated his grandfatther's quality as a sire.
the key to a sire is if he is passing on the best genes in his line...that can be determined by an audit of the quality of his progeny.
so on the sire line Green moon is perfect..THE BEST THERE IS! he has received all the best from his sire Montjeu. and all things being equal the rest of that field prolly could not touch him..
on pedigree at least they some could have equaled him but not surpass him. but they would all have to be check them all out to tell

the pedigree of Green Moon's mother also shos the Nearco, Neartic, Northern Dance, Saddlers' Wells line.
but the dam also shows the greatest current line of general horses in the world from pedigree standpoint..the raise an native line
as the Nearco line branches into Nothern Dancer it becomes the very best Grass there is.
but the raise a native line is far more versatile producing both grass and main track winners in abundance. for some 50 or so years now upward to 65% of triple crown winners have come from the native dancer line..especially where it intersects with Mr Prospector
so when we get down we can see Native Dancer, into Mr Prospector..who mated with Oceans answer to produce Soundings, who with Terring to produce Green Tune... who gave rise to Green Noon..who with Montjeu gave rise to Green Moon
also in Green Noons Pedigree would be more Nothern Dancer through lyphard.....
man! I could have found Green Moonas the winner had I been looking at that race. interesting! :cheesy: :cheesy:
