The accident apparently occurred late Monday night while Puran was going to his pig farm aback Mahaicony.
Puran, who briefly made an appearance as Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee's lawyer at the Commission of Inquiry hearings, was a regular attendee at the sittings.
He was an attorney for Guyanese drug kingpin and Shaheed 'Roger' Khan who has been convicted and jailed in the United States.
Puran met his demise less than one day after his client Ricardo 'Fatman' Rodrigues was gunned down at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club on Albert Street between Woolford Avenue and Thomas Road, Georgetown. Rodrigues was a close confidante of Khan.
