11 years ago on Sept 11, 2001.

I was just about to start my last year of law school.  I had just spoken to my parents on the phone and decided to watch the weather on TV.  However, instead of the weather the anchor woman was talking about a plane crashing in to the North Tower of the WTC and looking at the live shot of the building with smoke billowing out.

She was talking to an person on the phone about the possibility of a plane accidentally crashing into the building as it had happened before with the Empire state building.  Then a few minutes later I saw the second plane hit the South Tower and a big ball of fire erupted from building.  Accident no more.

Dude, I was living my blasted life in a very relatively free country...where access to flying was a breeze....where I wasn't stopped and frisked repeatedly when flying...when I didn't have to show silly id's for every damn place I go. And then this thing happened, and was a precursor to every bad thing that has happened since then. Lives were destroyed, pain and suffering became boundless, both in America and overseas, movements were restricted, terrorism became a reality, and my identity was compromised for these fools.

Now where was I???

If these assholes wanted to die for a good cause then they should have asked for help. Now all they have done was screwed up innocent people lives.

And why??? Hatred...hatred, pure unadulterated hatred. This is why I don't care for fanatics.

"In today's wars, there are no morals. We believe the worst thieves in the world today and the worst terrorists are the Americans. We do not have to differentiate between military or civilian. As far as we are concerned, they are all targets."

"The pieces of the bodies of infidels were flying like dust particles. If you would have seen it with your own eyes, you would have been very pleased, and your heart would have been filled with joy."

Yes, I am an infidel...so what???? Who gives a flying #$%@???

U.S paid Israel to do it. Look at it like this, our culture needs a hero and a villain for things to run smoothly, correct? :cheesy:

I am of a similar mind SCA (as Hema that is).....I really don't believe that it is as simple as some bad mid-eastern terrorists did it.

there's a lot more to it than that (and I am not even one of those people who see conspiracy in every action)

that is too simple for the politics and greed involved......and especially what came after and what is still going on in the mid-east.

Lots of folks got filthy rich off 9/11.  Larry Silverstein (leaseholder of the buildings) got paid out by his insurance company.  Bush, Cheney, Rice etc. all got rich from the pork from the Iraq and Afghan wars when their companies like Haliburton and Bectel got all the "rebuilding" and military contracts.  9/11 was the best thing to happen to these folks. :yeti:
