It kicks off with the traditional Emancipation Day Festival on August 1 :
which will see thousands of Guyanese of all ethnicities coming together to mingle as :
One People; One Nation; with one Common Destiny,
as they celebrate the occasion, which not only freed the Africans and peoples of African ancestry, but, effectively,
put an end to slavery in any form in Guyana.........

The tariff was in need of review ... from what I have been told, there was no electricity increase in Linden for a long time. In the meantime, GT people were being choked .....
Did the people of Linden have a reason to protest? Yes, since it is human to protest against anything that is detrimental to them, and higher tariffs will be detrimental to them, given the state of the cost of living in Guyana.
Did the police have a right to monitor and keep order? YES!!!!
Did they have a right to shoot to kill? NO!!!!
Am I going to get hauled over the coals, tarred and feathered and called vile names for the opinions expressed here? OF COURSE!!!!!! Business as usual..

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

How is the economy of Linden
are they rolling in dough ...
Can they handle a Cost Of Living increase ..
Forget the rest of the country .....
To use a rich ....say , retail sector and compare it to a Mining town :
is SILLY .
and Ramotar knows that !
