Jamaican speedster Merlene Ottey is aiming to be a part of Slovenian Olympic Games team at the age of 52.
Ottey guided the Slovenian 4x100 relay team at the 2010 European championships at the age of 50 just two years ago, which made her the oldest athlete in history to compete at the European championships, and she will be back in the colours of her adopted home again next week.
Ottey, who holds the record for the most Olympic appearances (seven) of any track and field athlete in history, would next week head to Finland with the aim of inclusion in Slovenia's 4x100m women's relay team, the Herald Sun reports.
She won her first Olympic medal at the Moscow Games in 1980, and in 2009 Ottey just missed out on competing at her eighth Olympics at age 48, falling short by just 0.28 seconds. (ANI)
