WASHINGTON – Facebook announced Tuesday that it had joined a consortium of other companies and security experts to help alert hundreds of thousands of websurfers of a computer infection called DNSChanger that may knock their computers off the Internet this summer.
Unknown to most of them, their problem began when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of infected computers around the world. In a highly unusual response, the FBI set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent Internet disruptions for those infected users. But that system will be shut down July 9 -- killing connections for those people.
The FBI has run an impressive campaign for months, encouraging people to visit a website that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem. After July 9, infected users won't be able to connect to the Internet

it is they themselves who have the resources and expertise to run such sophisticated infection programs.
why..that is the question...wud any group of people develop malware, run a huge advertising program to infect pcs around the world?
why wud such a huge and costly thing be done by hackers, who would ideally want to make some money from their hacking activities.
and if they had money already they would not be spending it on crap like this.
I can see hackers gettng into the militaries trying to shut them down.
but I doubt they can do that because those would be protected.
and if the hackers are not hacking the militaries, the big banks, the federal reserve, wall street etc., it means they cant do that.
and if they cant do that then those who made the protection for those entities are the real experts.
and if malware is being spread around the world it is they who have done it...the governments themselves...in this case the very people who warned of the malware and prepared a site to help those infected.
THAT VERY SITE MUST HAVE ALSO BEEN A SOURCE OF INFECTION. VISIT THEM FOR HELP AND GET INFECTED
THERE MUST BE SOME HUGE PLOT FOR TAKING OVER THE INTERNET BEHIND THIS.
THIS HAS TO BE A GOVERNTMENT PROGRAM, A CORRUPT AND CROOKED EFFORT BY THE POWERS AND THE UN FOR PLACING GLOBAL CONTROL OF THE NET IN UN HANDS

they already came close to censoring the internet and received protest. if they really wanted to they could easily pass a law to do it. why would they do this to themselves.
it doesn't cost these extremely large hacker networks anything to distribute these viruses...they code them themselves based on existing programs/code. they run on networks of computers and servers that they likely DO NOT pay for.
i think you forgot to wear your tin foil hat today

I do not even remotely spy a hacker MO that reveals intent like I see here..
maybe there are. but if hackers are ordinary joes individually and in groups money would be their aim..money and social causes...
anything else would be big groups for massive purposes..criminal conspiracies and the goverment itself... which is a criminal conspiracy.
this one smacks of such a conspiracy.
I never saw most of the problems with the net as anythng but a corporate exercise. why wud it be not such? what else could it be?
