The problem was not that the country got independence from the British, but that it got a dictator to replace the British. If the CIA had not meddled in Guyana's politics the country would have had a democratically elected leader who wanted the country to prosper instead of raping the country's wealth and siphoning all the money to Swiss bank accounts.
