I kept saying Sugar is our legacy, it’s in our DNA, a backbone industry in Guyana and should have never been done away with. Folks had a lot of fluff to give to me.
Now that’s it’s revamped by the PPP administration and is exceeding expectations, with a bright future ahead, these same folks are as quite as Church Mice.
They fell hard for the PNC pitch that Sugar was dead and done with. They never analyzed the facts about the PNC and it’s history, that they are good at doing nothing much. They lack the know how, the necessary skills, they only employ PNC people, nobody else, no wonder they can’t make anything new or good happen. Hence they close everything that is above their rudimentary level to run.
Left to their own vices, the PNC would have made Guyana dependent on oil alone and closed everything else down. That’s their disease and mentality.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
