Addiction is running into a Dunkin Donuts bathroom just so you can end your withdrawals. Addiction is stealing from your mother and helping her look for what is missing. Addiction is pushing your family and friends away while living in isolation. Addiction is lying to yourself so much that you start to believe it. Addiction is telling yourself it will be different this time. Addiction is toxic relationships and fake friends. Addiction is a disease that tells us we don’t have a disease. Addiction is pawn shops and loose cigarettes. Addiction is over-drafted bank accounts and lost wages. Addiction is a prison where the locks are on the inside. Addiction is old hoodies and sweatpants with burn holes in them. Addiction is telling your family you’re not high - just itchy. Addiction is achy muscles and cold sweats. Addiction is a foe that wants to strip you of your soul before it takes your life. Addiction is a lot of things, but it is not stronger than all of us working together to fight back against this epidemic. Hope changes everything!

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
