D’Angelo Russell had another big game in Wednesday night’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Brooklyn Nets fans want to make sure Magic Johnson knows how much they appreciate it.
Russell is enjoying a breakout year in his second season with Brooklyn, averaging 20.5 points and 6.8 assists per game. He has carried the Nets to victory in multiple games and is one of the main reasons they are in position to make the playoffs for the first time in four years. When Russell was at the free throw line late in Wednesday’s game, some Nets fans began chanting, “Thank you, Magic!”

Trading Russell was one of Johnson’s first moves when he took over the Lakers’ basketball operations department. Johnson was critical of Russell in public and said he had to find better leadership at the point guard position. The Lakers eventually drafted Lonzo Ball, and you have to wonder if they would be better off with Russell now.
Of course, Russell created a lot of problems for himself in L.A. with the drama involving him and Nick Young. Regardless of that, Johnson is always going to be questioned for the trade as long as Russell continues to play at a high level.

Magic is an overconfident arse right now. everything has worked for him up to now..he has been successful all the way and now he seem thinks success is his by right. so he thinks his moves out in public. he surely think everything he does will work so what
well what you nah meet yet in life still behind you looking to pass. it does catch up in time and idiot Magic will pay a price to bring him down to earth again.
the price he will likely pay is prolly getting fired from the Lakers in ignominy for failure for FAILURE! a thing Magic has not known...failure .
that shud set him right. he is well on his way. his nosed got rubbed in the dirt by Dell Demps in New Orleans already. Magic apparently thought that Demps was bound to deal with him on the up and up..why..because he is Magic!
that's was a start. more to come..in the summer when he cant sign a free agent for any amount of money. I don't know that any of those top guys wants to play with leBron

it was a huge mistake going for LeBron first up..in my opinion. I cud be wrong but I think LeBron is a turn off for some players. they don't want to play with him
Kyrie Irving sure as hell don't. I don't think Durant will play with James either..nor Leonard

and more shit for Magic..the way he treated his current players in his quest for Anthony Davis. He turned them totally off..to the extent they wont play for him now, trying to get to the playoffs
and the way he traded Russel and Russell's excellence for the Nets..surely that is another nail his box with the players he has now. all those guys are surely looking to be traded out of Lakers right about now.
we are not likely to see Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Brandon Ingram in Lakers uniform next season. Magic will have to trade them because they are not playing for him. and if he is forced to trade those 3 guys what is he going to do even if he gets another star to sign. they cant play by themselves and Magic has salary cap to work with
this job already looks like toast for Magic. he has made life very difficult for himself as Lakers GM.
