The third woman to accuse Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct ahead of his confirmation released a scathing statement on Sunday calling out conservative pundits and certain Republican lawmakers for revictimizing her after she came forward. Julie Swetnick, who alleged that she’d seen evidence that Kavanaugh was involved in efforts to get girls drunk so they could be gang-raped at high school parties, accused President Trump and Republican lawmakers of blocking the FBI from carrying out a full investigation into her claims. “They then had the audacity to claim our claims were not credible even though they never allowed any investigation to determine their credibility,” Swetnick said in a statement released by her lawyer, Michael Avenatti. “I am disgusted and appalled by the way that I have been re-victimized over the last 2 weeks after I had the courage to come forward,” she said, singling out NBC’s Chuck Todd and Sens. Coons and Kennedy for what she described as telling her to “shut up” about her allegations. “They claim my allegations were ‘not helpful to the process.’ This is outrageous and shows a lack of empathy for survivors,” she said.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
