Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Basil Williams; Georgetown Mayor Patricia Chase-Green; Mayor of Bartica, Gifford Marshall; and President of the Guyana Association of Municipalities, former Linden Mayor Carwyn Holland, all participated in the parade.
A contingent of Guyana Defence Force (GDF) officers were also part of the celebrations. They were First Lieutenant Alvin Holladar, First Lieutenant Kaya Dover, Sergeant Dominic Percival, Sergeant Lawrence Douglas and Sergeant Lester Lewis.
The officers performed the ceremonial honours at the commemorative events along with Guyanese in the United States Armed Forces.
