this topic is by way of information and clarification about the Bible, a book I have a quarrel with..but only from the way it is used by ordinary folk..especially those of my own ancestry.
I like to expose any reasonable critique of the Bible then by people who are qualified to offer such critique.
my own view is in line with what both lecturers argue...
I operate on the principle that nothing at all by way of opinion and studies is totally correct. like every waking moment all alive are always partly wrong and right about everything we work with..it is in the nature of things. so open minds are essential and all talk must be seen and held withing such limits..that there is always more in the mortar than the pestle.
however what is inescapably true is that we hold such as the Bible, and by extension all Holy books in such esteem that we are always led dangerously astray by such regard. it is necessary to bring such esteem into line that neuters their danger..hence a thread like this from me on the subject
I am confident that you have strong opinion on this subject. feel free

I don't follow links on forums as a general rule, since it is possible for those links to infect a PC with malware. So I am unable to comment on anything said or discussed in those links.
But feel free to type down here what your own opinions are.

Malware is a fact of pc life..where to hide..... ::confused::
a pc is limited if man cant roam. and roaming is what I like when I have the time...just 'dreeve' all over the place
I don't worry about malware. my pc is old anyway and if it gets infected I will toss it...get my tail up and go get a better one, chuck full of protections. I don't want to spend the cash which is why I still have this dino. but I cant do without a pc by now..desktop.
I hate laptops >

well man this is no great revelatory thread or anything of the sort. the info here is well known.
Dr Bart Ehrman is good, efficient and presents his case based on the research he has done backed up by sources. I like that and skeptics can go to town on him if they can. he is no incompetent
so for that reason I posted him up.
and of course I am in love with Francesca...beautiful woman, very tall it appears, but of course highly qualified, brainy and very professional. she is English from Greek, and her tongue, the way she speaks demonstrates she is of the english aristocracy/upper class, went to the best schools etc.
but she kept her Greek name which by english standards is a handful..or mouthful. that to me is impressive and indicates a strong personality proud of all her roots, not running from them at all like Greeks used to in the english world.
pompous and powerful england held Greeks to be second class white, who were nore Black than white people, and for Greeks to make a living in the english world they felt compelled to shorten their names into English derivatives. I met in Canada, lots of Greeks who had done this. the stories of discrimination at the hands of english derived Canadians they told were very interesting..never as outrageous as Black stories but quite severe as well
