over the past month OXYGEN as the majority content of the air quality of the city of Hamilton has disappeared.

pure OXYGEN no doubt has been diluted for generations, mostly everywhere, but prolly remained significant enuff for people to live.

now I am not so sure that is the case in south-western Ontario, centred on the city of Hamilton.

Hamilton literally stinks, the air is reeking of chemicals, like pitch-oil used to smell in the days of kerosene fiyah for cooking... only worse.

the source of the pollution is no doubt Dofasco steel-making, now I believe, owned and controlled by the Indian company Tata or some such.

they began twice daily emitting a truly stinking  mess..at night around 9- 10 pm, and around mid-day.  since this week began the emission have been 24-7 and hamilton for me at least its now unlivable.

property or not I am leaving...currently looking for an apartment in a couple of areas a good way away from here.

I know the pollution will catch up wherever I go but the smell is too uncomfortable, constantly nauseating, splitting headaches, strepping the throat, often producing giddy-ness.

over-looking the McMaster valley from up in Flamborough is a sight to behold.  there is a sunny haze as from a massive fiyah that stretches out over the entire area, as far as the eye can see, every single day..even on sundays.

I dont know where this is leading but it is prolly a result of the election of a conservative majority.  I wud not be sooprised if Harper has given industry a green light to produce as deh see fit...dam the pollution

its almost 5 am as I type but the air is as stink as a chemical soup.

I was able sleep by pull a couple of air-cleaners I have close together, to pruduce an area of air I could breathe to sleep in.

that worked from around midnight.  but I awoke at about 3:15 am with my throat burning.

there are thousands of children sleeping in this mess, in this city...all kinds of children...white, chinese, Indians, black, mixed......

wat will their future be, exposed to this level of pollution at this time in their lives?

Incredible that humanity can do this to itself.

I am still stunned by the reality we live, stunned a the shape the world is currently in, stunned by all I see.

I am no innocent believer, have long been cynical enuff.

yet I cannot make sense of this.  why poison the environment for money that yu will die and leave for others, who will die in turn demselves....often enuff I suppose from the very same poisons they make so generously in the process of the wealth they horde?

further afield I note truth about the Fukushima disaster has begun to flow in the media.

I began a thread on cricket fan asking whether Japan will die as a whole from that develoment.

the reason I asked dat question is because i did a project way back in the 19-seventies about nuclear energy dat scared the hell out of me.

wat I have come to know about nuclear energy over the yearsallowed me to understand to a sdatisfactory extent the levl of danger the whole planet face from that situation.

that danger wud be critical from just one reactor melting down.  but there are 3 to 5 reactors melting down and dat theatens the whole human species from the little knowledge I have of atomic reaction and what it produces.

if those reactor cores get out of containment and into the ground I dont see how japan itself can be saved.  nor indeed the pacific ocean.

and that my friends... IS PRECISELY WAT APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPEND..AT LEAST IN ONE INSTANCE.

we are  prolly looking at a disaster here that is going to cost the human species a great price indeed.  it will be a long, long time befofe we recover from this..if recovery is even a possibility

totting up the disaster humanity appears to be facing a staggering cost for our capitalism.

clearly we are moving towards some kind of total eco-system failure and disaster of proportions that cannot properly be called anything but...AMAGEDDON

there are oceanic oil leaks everywhere...have been leaks of gargantuan proportions like the destruction of the Gulf of Mexico...dat surely has had an effect of on the neary-by Atlanic at least.

and now that the Pacific appears to be completely contaminated the worlds oceans apparently are done.  that eliminates a gigantic source of food for humanity that is already impacting human ability to continue.

but instead of  reducing the depradatrive effect of our capitalist mode of social organisation we have intensified it as witnessed by the destruction of Hamiltons air quality...

then there is war everywhere that has spread depleted uranium dut over huge portions of the world.

to count these areas of devastation we have.... Iraq: where depleted uranium dust ferom weapons fiyah, has resulted in genetic abnormaliteis in Iraqi children being born at such rates that i understand Iraqui women are refusing to become pregnant anymore.

if that is indeed the case then it must also be the case in central europe, the old yugoslavia where nato used a lot of the same uranium weapons as dropped in Iraq.

now that very same situation has occurred and is occurring in Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Gaza.  and if the signs reveals wat is to come then there will son be a conflagration in Iran, far greater than all those instances in progress combined.

and given the great pollution all over the industrilaised world from capitalist production for generations, it is not difficult to see that almost the entire planet is getting late for continued human habitation.

there already is almost no place on planet earth, where humans can get a breath of decent ozxygen to live

in Hamilton ontario its like breathing can kill yu!

wat stuns me even more is the state of denial by the people of Hamilton, especially people like myself, Black people, those I know and relate to.

my friend ... says clearly he does not smell a damm thing.

but can he not when there are at least a few voices crying in the wilderness about the awul state of the air?

and he lives very close to Dofasco.

but most people do the same.  I was speaking to one white guy who is a long time resident of Hamilton with the name of a long established family in the region.

he is a well to do individual and his response was wat pollution when I introdeced the air quality question. "  there is always pollution " he said.  we have to live with it.

troubling this response for this man is no weakling, and far from averse from levelling criticism at what and at who  he believes deserves such critique.

why wud he pass water-dwom an obvious problem he is aware of and is of so serious to the region?

and there is no uprising in Hamilton, no public outcry, no noise I can hear about this issue.  surely there must be some opposition.  there always is isnt there.

anyhow I got to get out of here.  I have to prepare some food to take with me for as the light comes up I making tracks out of here.

my apartment search is in progress and away from here I can breathe a bit.  there is no way i can stay in this 24/7.

I will come in from elsewhere to do my work when necessary, but I wont live in this mess for much longer..no matter what is involved.
