I can't remember the last time I saw a batsman bowled after the ball hit his helmet. Masood got himself in a right pickle on a pitch that offered very little pace or bounce.

The drop of Hafeez really hurt England. Prior to the start of play, Matt Prior and Nasser Hussain suggested that a good day for England would be to have Pakistan five wickets down at the close of play.

The wicket really offered no pace or bounce and the spin was slow and gentle. Taking 40 wickets on this pitch is going to be a real challenge. Pakistan are in the driver's seat but England were at least able to restrict the run rate. After winning the toss, I was afraid Pakistan would finish the day with 400+ runs.

Pakistan batsman have taken a real liking to Adil Rashid. A very inauspicious debut so far. This wicket is a joke though. It's as flat as a pancake with no pace, bounce or spin.
