june 13 2011: When Kaieteur News visited the hospital yesterday approximately 10 bunk beds had two patients per bed in the Male Medical Ward, which was upsetting to the patients. Kaieteur News spoke to patients who were sharing beds. Five of the adult males were suffering from malaria while one was also suffering from typhoid and diabetes.
Concerned about the medical implications such a situation poses to the patients, one of the doctors at the institution declined to comment.
