yeah but my contract states that i have to give 21 days notice
if my resignation letter states my last day is october 10 - do i have to give them an extra day for the thanksgiving holiday? also if i refues to work after that can they hold my vacation pay? i have 9 days left

Generally the 21 days is 21 consecutive days. What did HR advise you?

both places i have worked they buy your 2 weeks notice......basically the day you hand in your resignation, they ask you to pack your personals and security walk you to the gate!!
