it goes the other way too (i have heard stories)

I doubt any of forefather's generation were rich, only delusional people would put out claims that their ancestors were well off. Majority or almost all indentured immigrants were uneducated to begin with.  From the way they dress alone rass , you couldah tell...  Cry
