i have been around long enough to realize religion is like the WICB.
its a poisoned chalice.

unfortunately it is about converting - a non jew cannot marry a jew without converting, same with catholics, same with muslims.


my cousin went through this when her daughter got married...they are muslim and the guy and family are hindus....she didnt want her daughter to walk round the fire...but in the end...they did.

don't put the children in any religion.  let them decide when they grow up.


They are marrying each other, not their religions.

why did the mother have to boycott everything.
it was a religious based boycott

bc to me the mother is dummy - if she was smart...she would have agreed for the hindu function to occur first and the muslim one to occur second where by both parties would reaffirm faith in islam and she wouldnt have to worry

but did the data want to?

they did the nikkah first and then went and lived together in their own home....then did the hindu ceremony almost 6months or more later (i dont know why the wait) but in any case....i guess she didnt care at this point...she loved the guy...what else matters?
