The latest reports indicates that MCL's parent company had to step in to make cash payments to those players affected, though there are some players that have only received 25% of their salary.
From what I was able to dig out, the MCL teams had a budget of $750,000 to spend on players - though they ultimately ended up spending a total of $736,000. Lara's salary was $100,000. Jacques Kallis was the most expensive player, due $175,000. For comparison, Kallis was paid roughly $90,000 to appear in the IPL and $100,000 in the CPL. It will be interesting to keep an eye on this and see whether all players end up being played in full.
