OK Folks!

* It is crystal clear that the TIGER has become a TURTLE. ;D

* Shiv has been crawling his way to 12,000 test runs.

* We saw the great Sachin Tendulkar struggle to score runs in his last 2 years in tests. In 15 tests in his last 2 years Tendulkar averaged only 27.52 with no hundreds and 4 fifties.

* There is no question Shiv has started to struggle.

* These are Shiv's last 7 test scores: 21, 4, 7, 9, 50, 46, 13 = 150 runs = 21.42 average

* After 162 tests Shiv has scored 11,834 runs at an average of 52.13 with 30 hundreds and 66 fifties.

* SHIV NEEDS 166 RUNS TO BECOME THE 7TH PLAYER IN HISTORY TO REACH 12,000 TEST RUNS.

* Shiv also needs 120 runs to surpass Lara(11,953) has the highest test scorer in WI history.

* At the rate Shiv is going---averaging 21.42 in his last 7 test innings---he will likely TURTLE his way past Lara 3 or 4 tests from now.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Shiv has had a remarkable career----but at age 40 yr 247day the TIGER has become a TURTLE.

RE: JACQUES KALLIS

* He retired after playing 166 tests---he scored 13,289 runs at an average of 55.37 with 45 hundreds and 58 fifties.

* These were Kallis last 11 test scores: 8, 50, 7, 2, 21, 5, 0, 7, 34, 115 = 249 runs = 22.63 average

* Kallis struggled at the end of his illustrious career, although he did manage to score a hundred against India in his last test innings.

RE: RICKY PONTING

* He retired after playing 168 tests---he scored 13,378 runs at an average of 51.85 with 41 hundreds and 62 fifties.

* These were Pontings last 11 test scores: 4, 14, 7, 41, 23, 57, 0, 4, 16, 4, 8 = 178 runs = 16.18 average.

* Ponting struggled at the end of his illustrious test career.

* Mapoui and Chairman might have more to say about that. Big Grin hahahaha

* But no question about it---OLD AGE is catching up with the TIGER.

* Shiv is still deeply passionate about his cricket----the man still sleeps with his bat.

* BUT THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE FOLKS.

* The TIGER has become a TURTLE.

QUESTION:

* Will Shiv ever score another test hundred ?

* He clearly looked like a hundred when he scored that 46 in Antigua, but then in his rush to get to fifty he uncharacteristically gave his wicket away.

I gather from what has been said that some players cannot recognise when it is time, evidenced by Sachin, Ponting and Kallis.
In my view those 3 were great players in the manner in which they influenced the outcome of games, same cannot be said for Shiv.
Context is lost on you
: those 3 were on winning teams thruout their career.

Shiv was on a LOSING team comparatively speaking  thruout his.

IF he dont get this done with the 4 more Innings available in this Series :  I would be surprised !

What are his scores in Grenada and Barbados  ??

* Shiv has played in 1 test and batted in one innings in Grenada---that was back in 2002---he scored 51 against New Zealand.

* In Barbados Shiv averages 60.50 in 18 tests ----but these are Shiv's last 4 scores in Barbados: 12, 26, 15, 25

BOTTOM LINE:

* The TIGER has become a TURTLE and is crawling his way to 11,953 and then 12,000

* But like I pointed out----Tendulkar, Kallis, and Ponting all struggled as old age caught up with them.

* By the way, the Rev remains a strong supporter of the Shivster and wish him well for the remainder of his career.
