I recently had a discussion with a Chicago Special Ed teacher and she said that the problems that many public schools face are being ignored. The government blames the teachers for the lack of better test grades (not graduation rates or grades) and don't factor in that a lot of students come poor or low income homes. Coming from these types of families factors in on how they are going to respond in class. Happy, healthy, fed children will do much better than a stressed out, hungry child.

Poor and low income has nothing do with it, because we don't come to this world with any cash and are not leaving here with any, so poor and low income has nothing to do with children not passing or barely passing in school. It has to do with the nurturing they're not getting from their mothers at home and that's a fact. It's not easy for a child to focus when they're familial structure at home is weak. After all, they are only children. What's happening everyday in the classroom is often very different from what's happening everyday at home. Okay, and the daily protocol at home will override the daily teachings at school.
