**** Bravo sacked as ODI Captain ****

Here is some more which clearly states that the players left for India without contracts:

What bargaining chip? We are talking about the WICB.

I am quite certain that the contract for South Africa has the amended terms and reduced pay. However the players have "happily" signed that contract because WIPA, the body supposedly representing the players, have basically hung them out to dry.

At the very least the "selfish" actions of Bravo and Company has resulted in the WICB now giving contracts to players well before they leave for a tour.

Hopefully the WICB continues with this standard practice and does not revert to the foolishness they were doing for years.

You are right the pull out 'may' benefit players and I say May because the task force made recommendations and we know what the WICB is like!


The players took industrial action and the new handbook has stipulated the notice period etc.


The sacking of Bravo is less to do with form and numbers rather vindictiveness as Pollard and Sammy also fell on the sword.


In the ODI format, these three are key players and the team will be vastly weaker for their absence.

The world cup team needs Dwayne and Pollard. You can fire them after the world cup, but you need their fielding and their cow-lashing for the tournament.

Without them, all the pressure goes onto Darren Bravo, which will make him abandon the contest, putting all the pressure on Samuels, who loves pressure, and will single handedly win the title for Jamaica, with his brethren Gayle....oh.

I see the plan now Clive. You still a tactical genius.
