Devon's exit for 35, will provide more fodder for DRS sceptics, but the decision was not as

off-beam as some immediately suggested. The umpire Billy Bowden had rejected Philander's

appeal after the ball passed between Devon Smith bat and hip as he sought to work it through

square leg.

Snicko, unhelpfully, showed a spike when the ball was between bat and trouser pocket.

Superficially, there was no evidence to overturn Bowden's decision but :

Paul Reiffel the TV umpire, did just that.  >Sad

3.2  Philander to Smith, The shout is for lbw, but this was swinging in too much..

the ball had lobbed up towards the cordon where Bavuma, from point, takes a simple catch.

Aleem Dar raises the finger and says it's caughtSad

Smith wants to review !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The third umpire (Pistol/Rifle)  >Sad  agrees with Dar and this is gone.

Devon Smith is a dung heap bully.

The only WI batsman who might make de opposition pay on a let off is Shiv. De rest of them soon give another chance.

I do not think the issue is about cheating rather poor judgement, in the first innings!

Taylor to du Plessis, big appeal for caught behind! Given not out and we have a review.

Ramdin called for it very quickly. I think there might be an edge here.

We don't have Hot Spot in this series.

But we do have Snicko, which shows a spike as the ball passes the edge.

What a start to the second day. Just what West Indies needed

F du Plessis c †Ramdin b Taylor 103
