What is Your Idea of Progress?

I'm asking because some of the members seem to think that no such thing as progress exist.

So what do you consider progress to be?

To me, progress is a state of evolution where human relations are less hostile and brutal then it used to be.

For instance, when I was a little girl, there was intense racial animosity with Puerto Ricans against blacks in my neighborhood, but today, Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics get along like pie and ice-cream with blacks, and I consider that to be progress. To me, progress lies in human relations and is measurable in the ease of relations.

Progress to me is moving from one state or stage to another in a positive way, in whatever case it may be. Could be views on race, financially or otherwise.

To me, progress is also when a person pays attention to themselves and analyze how their mind and emotions work. Because this is how we change from within and change the outer world. There can't be a change in the world without a change in the people.

I find it interesting how there's racial animosity towards blacks from other races. Black people don't have the history of perpetuating racial injustice towards Hispanics, Asians or Indians and yet I come across many comments discussing the hostility these groups have towards black people. I feel the example you discussed is a perfect representation of progress. I wish I could say the same about racial progress in my country of America. No, it is not as bad as it was in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and so forth. However, a reality where race is not even remotely an issue is still a dream that may never be realize.

Black people has not really progressed  : exception being Sports and Entertainment.

Whites ,Jews and Arabs still controls the  $$$ in the World !

After seeing that pic above I have a feeling Ms. Patty will be angling for some "progress" of har own. ::LOL::

Progress is the ability to learn AND apply what you have learned, to tomorrow's toils. And there will certainly be there tomorrow, it's just how you handle it. Do you lay down and give up or do you combat tomorrow's struggles with understanding, strength and love? You have progressed when you have learned how to.
