That's what I'm saying.  Why don't the Test players opt out of WIPA and contract their services directly to the WICB like Samuels?


Well the obvious answer is that those Test players clearly still want WIPA to represent them and they are in solidarity with Bravo.

The Board MAY have refused t accept Hinds signature IF they were aware it was NOT approved by the members .

I don't disagree that the heart of this dispute is between the players and WIPA. 

But the players are also saying that the WICB had knowledge that the MOU was executed by Hinds without consultation.  This would be bad faith conduct on the WICB's part.  It's the player's burden to prove this, but if they do then the WICB is clearly a part of this problem.

And what is the problem with this?

There are two separate issues.

Firstly the WIPA and WICB have contrived a situation which results in reported 65-75% reduction in salary.

It seems reasonable to protest this and it is a position supported by all the players who toured, including Marlon Samuels.

Secondly it is these players' right to choose where they work as the workplace for Cricketers is quite varied and choices exist taken up by many international players. not just West Indians.

To apply their trade in International T20 competitions, a NOC is required and this has been the norm for some years now.

The position taken by the players against India will benefit all concerned.

A number of players in the region do apply for NOCs for various tournaments.

That is their choice as is the selectors to either select them for the Windies or not.

The principle of West indies first is a good one but it 'will not' be imposed.
