For my vote it would've been AB for Cappo and Hashim as VC ... but it's all done now ... Good luck to the new SA Captain !!!
Quote:The surprise was that someone who has always proved to be reluctant to lead should suddenly decide that he wanted to be captain in the first place.
while there is no proof that the fix was in from the start..that Lorgat and Amla discussed the captaincy and Amla agreed to take the job seems clear. where-upon Lorgat proceeded to secure the job for him.
if AB was the logical and natural choice that everyone agreed on, the delay in his appointment established for me the clear intent of others to make sure that that did not happen. and if that was indeed the case it had to be the presence of Lorgat and Amla in the same location with power and a viable profile on which an Amla captaincy could be established.
once I saw that, the case was closed for me. AB would sleep out, given some lesser job as palliative and public relations for whatever that is worth. but there is no real public to pacify if AB get shafted. who cares... black south africans ::confused:: hardly.
the whites did not involve them in the cricket, shut them out... so AB has no constituents of great number he could have draw on to ensure the job for himself. an Amla/Lorgat challenge would have been an upstart and would have got nowhere had AB been a candidate in a proper cricket situation, about which all were confident that non racialism was the base, and the white man up for the job was indeed the best man
so Ab deVilliers got shafted by the same game the whites play in RSA cricket.
I don't care. let them cut each other up. I will get them napkins, tissues, to sop up the blood. the african..the real one, is still locked out. that could not happen in my south africa..but south africa is not mine ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL::
