The fact that 40 in dung heap = 20 on international pitched is neither here nor there.

The West Indian selectors can only pick based on performance in the 4 day competition.

No one is going to average 80+ in the 4 day competition.

Then our Goose is truly cooked :

anodda 20 Years as basement dwellers ??  :-\

BLACKWOOD..................................LOL

I agree with Boqui here.

You can only judge players and young players relative to the standards. Whether Blackwood is any good, I cannot say but he did score the most runs at a 40 average which is certainly not the best but at 22, could be a prospect.

In fact Shacaya Thomas for CCC, in three innings less than blackwoodms, did very well only a few runs behind Blackwood but averaging 46 with 2 tons and 2 fifties.

I think only Ambris and Kirk also scored 2 hundreds. I would say that it seems statistically only Kirk and Leroy Johnson can be considered to have excelled.

Best of luck to them both.

I have the evidence to show :

Devon Smith was already mentioned.

I can List names that would make you folks look  uninitiated.

Blackwood when his time arrives against the Top teams (not subcontinent teams )

I will hail him out .

Until then he is Guilty until proven Innocent  Tongue

Devon Smith is only one of a long list of players who started well and for whatever reason they failed to make it at the highest level.

Only time will tell whether Blackwood makes it but WI desperately need young batsmen and he has made a good start - you cannot ask for more than that.
