Separate point Old Fruit.

Shiv should be bullying these Div II bowlers am bit more once a foundation is set.

I do wish him the best for the season. For me a measure of his success would be to get Derby. Loser to the top, a job the overseas is always expected to do.
[/quote] Don't you worry none mate , Shiv will explode his strike rates sooner rather than later

Kwams,

I have no doubt and I have said nothing to the contrary.

I am point out what I have seen and have wished him well.

I, like many, want to see him go on and on.

I had said it is early season and although we have had sunny spells, it has been raining for the last week.

I am not a detractor and would like to think I am being objective.

It is just a shame the Windies are not playing many tests.

When is the next series?

Shiv ain't gonna change. He's a Misbah/Dravid styled player. A slow accumulator who tirelessly does his thing, time after time.

I think Shiv can accelerate whenever he wants, and can up his strike-rate instantly (remember his last ball six for victory, with 0 balls to spare?). He just chooses to play slowly and methodically, feels more comfortable batting this way, and rarely finds himself in a situation where it is absolutely necessary to bat faster.

Gayle, Darren, Powell and Samuels, meanwhile, want to bat fast, but force themselves to be overly selective. Somehow this causes all kinds of freakish, mutant-like batting displays.

Division II is not a red herring in the least.

They are Div II door a reason.

Shiv's role in tests is well known and that is that.

However when you are playing Vlub cricket as an isn't atonal batsman then it is only natural to expect more.

Professionally in County Cricket, the overseas is expected to lift the team and that is not happening.

In fact they were relegated to Div II only after one season.

Name calling and profanity is for those who cannot reasonably debate and accept a different perspective.
