AN extensive £3.7m redevelopment is to go ahead after Derbyshire County Cricket Club confirmed they have decided their best option is to stay at the 3aaa County Ground.
A line was drawn under the possibility of a move south of the city at last night’s annual general meeting at the Gateway Centre.
Instead, the Gateway will be part of a major facelift for the old racecourse ground, which first hosted county cricket in 1871.
The work would enable the club to bid to host matches in the 2019 World Cup.[left][color=rgb(0, 0, 0)]
