sobers is still the best

Not even close, I have seen them both The Baron was an incredible cricketer as a batsman as good as any in all eras. Kallis is a plodder his stats are great no doubt, but he was not in Sobers class never even though his stats compare well Sir Garry edges ahead on average 57.78 to 54.87
Bowling is where the gap widens Sobers 235 in 93 tests Kallis neded almost 30 more to reach the mark. Visually the difference is huge The Baron was quicker and moved it more plus he was a genuine world class spinner.
One of the most lethal combinations in the history of cricket is caught Sobers b Gibbs his feilding at backward short leg was legendary.
Not close at all

another one wants to be Sobers

he made his 8000 runs without a helmet

and his 235 wkts was against some of cricket greatest batsman

i see no one present or in the horizon close to sobers!

a better comparison would be flintoff vs Kallis.

West indians are the best cricketers in the world from an estethic point of view. People like  tendulkar and pointing , though great players, only  plays proper and purist cricket  strokes .
Kanhai, sobers , richards, gayle, lara et all are exhilirating to watch because of their swashbuckling style  of cricket shots

Just before leaving the stage as a player for the last time,

Brian Lara asked the crowd a ridiculous question:

“Did I entertain you?”

It was like Albert Einstein asking, “Am I intelligent?”

Marilyn Monroe inquiring, “Am I beautiful?”.
