Kartel could have still associated with "ghetto people" & stayed in the community he grew up in & be a proponent of change. He could have used his influence to help "his people" out of the "gully" but he chose to exploit them and to use his influence and the "licky licky" mentality of some of those "ghetto people" to make them worse and to get himself in the situation he has found himself in. Many have done what he did in the past and they did slide but unfortunately for him and fortunately for Jamaica & "his people" he got caught and he is being made to pay for his doings. The only thing that makes me sad is that he chose this path.

as far as I can see he was a man of status quo ideology.  he might singe a revolutionary tune but in is life he was not revolutionary.

and all it wud take to transform the ghetto would be jobs for the people.  Jamaica now using ganja for developmental purposes.  why did he now  not jump in there and do some investment.  lots of potential there.  and if he brought a factory to the ghetto in kingston that provided a thousand job things change.  even a few hundred jobs.

I have never heard of this trial. But as he's been held for two years, it's not 'news' anymore.
