Popular dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel is has been in police custody for nearly two years now, the controversial DJ was charged on two counts of Murder (although he has been cleared of one count). As the drama in the court room case unfolds, the Artistes' future is still in limbo at this point, Kartel is looking at up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

I was not aware of Vybz kartel as artist and human being.  I had no idea of his case and what he has been up against.

now that I know what can I do?

I am going to dig into his issue. I have listened to his music..its tremendous.

but I have said elsewhere I don't like the gangsta lifestyle..view it as unproductive and wasteful..and dreadful as example for the youth.  there is no benefit to it.

Quite an interesting case, I haven't seen anything like it.
The only evidence the prosecutor s presented were a 2second of vb's voice.

This whole case has turned into political rig mah roll...

appeal coming soon...

after the sentencing, the high commissioner send out a statement--- declaring that he's happy! ::LOL::

Man get life sentence tuh rass

Vybz looks guilty with no redeeming qualities.  he cares about nothing but himself..if that.  it seems as if all the controversy surrounding him he deliberately fostered but it got away on him and he ended up killing people and got caught

this is not Bob Marley but Jimmy Cliff gone completely of the rails.  Cliff was way too smart to go off the rails.  he loved money and life and knew where to stop.  this Vybz Kartel fella looks like the real idiot article.

why the hell would the people follow him?

I think the Yardie music industry just caught a break getting this fella off the scene.  he is clearly nothing but serious trouble.  man have to get positive ..even if man start off badly.  especially if you get successful....you have to get onto a decent path.  you cant get worse...

stupid!

The govt. has to be an integral part of the process; unfortunately Jamaica have an inept, incompetent and useless govt. that is unable to do squat.

Sad that vk's case has turn into a political one.

anyone getting his book? :-\

the book can only expose more of the same:  that VK is a sick man, a perfect negative product of the black ghetto experience......

look at what his investments were according to some of the reports I read:  Rum and Skin Whitening cream.

you cant be singing for the people while imposing skin whitening cream on them with the profits they give you.  as well as Rum.

there are so many progressive types of investments that literally guarantee profits and have positive effects on the developing economy in Jamaica, I was totally sooprised that that is the kind of investments Kartel made

those investments are actually physical attack on the ordinary Yardy people.

the man could have bought or made a Yardy paper, or made one..made a yardie/west indian 'zine that celebrate the black skin..rather than seeking to whiten it

I dont see that his book wud be worth my while
