Kumar Sangakkara's stats are great. In only 119 tests he has scored over 10,500 runs at a remarkable average of 56.82 with 33 100s and 43 50s

* But take a closer look at Sangakkara's numbers folks.

* SANGAKKARA IS A SUBCONTINENT AND MINNOW BULLY.

* In 62 tests against Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and minnows West Indies and Zimbabwe, Sangakkara averages a massive 72.52 with 24 100s.

* But in 56 tests against Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand----Sangakkara averages a mere 42.65 with only 9 100s.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Kumar Sangakkara has great overall numbers.

* He has been great against subcontinent teams plus 2 minnows---WI and Zimbabwe.

* But he has struggled against Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand.

SANGAKKARA VS PAKISTAN

* Sangakkara has mauled Pakistan.

* In 18 tests against the Pakis---Sangakkara has averaged 85.82 with 9 100s and 9 50s

* Don't be surprised to see Sanga blast his 10th 100 in the current test against the Pakis.

* Sangakkara is a proven subcontinent and minnow bully.

Rev...look for a time when Sangy scored almost a double in a great and grand effort to save Lanka or win the game..in a fourth innings in Oz no less.

Sanga has some class man! 8)

Mappy:

* When you chat cricket with the Rev it's imperative that you have your facts straight.

* Sangakkara has one hundred against Australia in 11 tests----he scored 192 back in 2007 in Australia.

http://howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Pl...tryCode=01

* But Sri Lanka lost that test match.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Sangakkara is a quality batsman---he has put up great numbers overall.

* But Sangakkara has been ordinary against the white teams----he averages 43 against Aus; 35 against England; 48 against South AFRICA.

was a very controversial out Rev!

all dem figures you list are not the figures of anyone but a batsman of some class...

I mean I wun put him up at the top of the great ones but he has done a bit.

and don't really put all dat confidence on Oz stats when it comes to players of colour in Oz.  those Oz re thieves

I will agree the 35 in england is not good at all for such as he..also because we cant claim the same thievery in Oz as in england

but what is his whole stats in england:  games played, innings etc?

Mappy:

* You don't know how to use crininfo's statsguru or howstat or you too lazy ? ;D

* In 20 tests against England Sangakkara has scored 1226 runs at an average of 35.03 with 2 100s and 6 50s

* Click on the link and check his performance against all opponents:

http://howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Pl...yerID=2226

BOTTOM LINE:

* There is a huge gap in performance by Sanga against subcontinrnt teams plus minnows like the WI and Zim versus his performance against the white teams.

* Sanga averages 72 vs subcontinent teams and minnow---while he averages 42 against the 4 white teams.

* Yes! Sanga is a class batsman----he has a 56 test average----but he has not averaged 50 against SA, AUS, ENG or NZ.
