* Lara's 400 was in danger as recently as 2006---Jayawardene scored 374 vs South Africa---thanks to Nel bowling him down---Lara's 400 was saved---but it will eventually be broken.

* Actually Michael Clarke scored 329* against India in Jan 2012----he declared the innings at 659-4 on day 3

* The match ended in 4 days---India lost by an innings.

* Clarke could have batted on and taken a shot at 400*----but he chose not to surpass the Don(334).
