[size=14pt]Lord Krishna surely did his magic to ensure that two great sons of Indian ancestry would celebrate their 150th and 200th tests in the same match. Shiv Chanderpaul is the first West Indies batsman in history to play 150 tests and Sachin Tendulkar is the first batsman in history to play in 200 tests.[/size]


Many will say that in life it's the quality not the longevity that matters. That is true. But in the game of cricket, we have seen not just longevity from Sachin(25 years) and Shiv(20 years) but also remarkable quality in their batting. That's a rare combination, indeed---longevity and quality.

The way the Rev sees it---it doesn't matter how many runs Shiv and Sachin get in their final test playing against each other---they could both fail to score---but in the end----they'd both be regarded as champion batsmen----and more importantly----humble and decent human beings.


GIVE PRAISE TO SHIV AND SACHIN.

SHIV EXPLAINS HIS "POKE & BLOCK" APPROACH TO BATTING:

No word from the WICB on this great achievement from the Great Man.  Or has there been something ?  I have not seen it.

Actually Coach Gibson praised Shiv to the hilt recently and referred to him as a West Indian legend---he talked about how deeply respected Shiv was in the WI dressing room.

Anyway Shiv is a modest man---and he won't want to detract from the celebrations in India for the Indian god Sachin.

It looks like hundreds of millions of Indians live incomplete lives----and therefore they sadly reach out to another human(Tendulkar) for fulfillment.

No one can deny Sachin Tendulkar put up great numbers---longevity has been great to him.

* But in the past 12 years---2002 to present---Sachin has averaged an ordinary 50.46 in 110 tests.

* The ordinary Shiv Chanderpaul has averaged 58.43 in 100 tests in the past 12 years

Give the man his dues---he is a bonafide great----but the masses in India are overreacting to Sachin's retirement---like I said---INCOMPLETE LIVES.
